Riedell Skates was founded in MN in 1947. Paul Riedell, wanted to design an affordable skate. Paul has a spot in both the ice and roller skating hall of fame. Paul's 4 grandsons now manufacture Riedell skates.
SURE-GRIP was founded in 1936. The reason their called Sure Grip is they revolutionized the skating industry by replacing slippery wooden wheels with a wheel that gave Sure Grip. In 1945 the first SURE-GRIP skate was made. In the 2000′s the come back of Roller Derby has once again brought back SURE-GRIP skates.
