Normally companies higher priced boots have lower ankle support. That's great for world class skaters with steel ankles but I'm not a world class skater. After trying the new Strut and Attitude boots last week I couldn't see how anything was going to work better for me then their higher cut Strut, especially Luigino's higher priced normally much lower cut boots. Well I was pleasantly surprised today. I first tried the Ultra Challenge expecting my ankles to last 5 minutes on them. Hmmm, why are my ankles lasting so long. Maybe I'm just...............
Poweslide R2 Boot Review Every year a skate company changes a skate design I have to keep my fingers crossed that the new boot will be as good as or better then the prior years boots. I have seen more then enough years where a good working boot is changed to a bad working boot. Well you don't have to worry about that this year with the new 2010 R2 & R4 boots. I was extremely happy with the comfort and performance of both these boots this year. The R4 has a bit more ankle support then the R2. Also the R4 ran a bit wider in the fore foo.............
Roller Derby Elite Alpha Skate Review I got to try the Roller Derby Elite Alpha skate today. At the $200 price point I wasn't expecting much. After 25 years of trying boots on I'm kind of spoiled as far as what passes my tests. This skate passed my tests. It feels like your putting your feet into pillows. With the larger 110mm and 125mm wheels there's great support to stabilize the skate at the higher height. But, it wasn't to constrictive as I was able to do a full double push on them. They seem to fit ............
